BLUE DUCK ARTS

Blue Duck Arts Screenwriting Workshop was founded in 2009 and aims to revive the national drama and screenplay writing workshops besides popularizing these genres in a wide spectrum.

As a type of storytelling, scriptwriting is both an instinctive art and a profession, which can be be studied and must be practised. As for the latter one, our regular meeting sessions aid us to deepen our knowledge and improve our writing skills.

We, the Blue Ducks, have managed to create a motivating and creative atmosphere, where the common brainstormings lead us to the fields of new ideas along several unique dramatic flow of images. Therefore we consider our meetings the most important forum of self- and communal expressing.

As far as our mentors are concerned, we are very pleased to be surrounded by professionals who form our Board of Trustees. Due to their feedbacks the stories get more sophisticated hence the artists get more improved.

Blue Duck Arts Screenwriting Workshop intends to lead the ways of our most successful scripts from page to screen by tenders and professional connections. So far some of our short films have been born and produced including some public service ads (e.g. Bike to work), which can be found on our website.

From time to time Blue Duck Arts takes part in various short film tenders. We are proud to have been successfully acknowledged at Celluloid Workshop, the AXN Film Festival and the Hungarian Film Week.

Owing to our brainstorming experiments we have realised that we are also eager to create theatrical plays. This new direction has resulted in our most recent play „On this Level”, which had its opening night in March 2011.

Presently the Blue Ducks are working on projects in connection with TV productions and drama series and we are also preoccupied with the preparation of a web-series. Meanwhile we are completing and fulfilling both our big screen and TV film scripts.

In the long run, Blue Duck Arts intends to become professionally acknowledged and to be regarded as a successful drama and scriptwriter workshop, which cooperates and creates high quality TV, theatrical and film productions providing the virtues of professionalism, sophistication, flexibilty and reliability.
